My interest in politics goes back to the 60′s and early 70′s, when young people across the country were very politically engaged and protest about the Vietnam War had college campuses at the forefront. I’ve maintained that interest! As a current legislator in Augusta, I find politics inspiring, and frustrating. The current environment both in Portland and Augusta are always of interest!
Now, as a second term State Representative in Augusta representing District 115 in Portland, I have a different view in some ways, but not in others. Currently We have had a major change with the Republican sweep of the House, Senate, and the Governor’s office. This has meant a lot of change in Augusta, and we can debate whether that is a good or a bad thing. I do believe that we need more quality jobs and businesses, but we may have different ideas of what a “quality: job or business is!
